Hillside Hotel is a country retreat and eco-lodge, a four star boutique hotel high on a hill amongst regenerating native bush near the coalmining town of Huntly. About 4km up an unsealed mountain road, the hotel offers very comfortable suites and deluxe rooms, spa, bush walks, a first class restaurant, and a panoramic view which is constantly changing.

The hotel features 25 well appointed luxurious rooms and suites. All the units offer comfortable spacious accommodation with lovely views, standard facilities and extra room service. Each suite is clean and tidy, and has a king size or double beds with exquisite cotton linens and a number of up-to-date amenities including phone, coffee maker, hair dryer, heated towel rails, toiletries and bathrobes, nice size fridge, cable TV and private bathroom. There is also a free washer and dryer the guests can feel free to use.


All the rooms are fashionably furnished and nicely decorated in neutral and relaxing colours. For corporate retreats you can be offered the honeymoon and luxury suites that feature separate lounges, spa baths and private viewing decks.


Hillside also specialises in retreat conferences and provides three spacious and comfortable event rooms to cater for both small and large groups. The Boardroom for up to 20 delegates suits small conferences or day meetings. The Function room is very versatile, has a lot of workshop space and break-out tables. It seats larger groups for up to 150 delegates.

The Lookout is an informal lounge for up to 15 delegates. It is excellent for creative thinking sessions or informal meetings. All conference rooms are equipped with everything you might need including high speed broadband with wireless connection and can be darkened for presentations. They open direct to the outside offering stunning views and relaxing atmosphere. Among other advantages of holding conferences in Hillside inn is that it's located less than 1 hour from Auckland, offers the participants to enjoy spectacular views and fresh air, provides necessary equipment for data projection and natural light in all rooms, and offers great break-out areas.



The restaurant at the top of the complex is a true godsend. It serves finest and contemporary New Zealand cuisine in a pleasing atmosphere. Here you can enjoy tasty breakfasts and lunches, as well as extensive 3-course a la carte dinners which are exquisite masterpieces prepared by international standard chefs.
